Phase I: Accessing Prior Knowledge
My lesson is an introduction to division on the SMART board. I hope to access prior knowledge on division with my guided questions at the start of the presentation about division. This would tell me if any of the students have been exposed to division. I think an additional review about what operations we already know (addition, subtraction, and multiplication) would be helpful, especially since we reference subtraction and multiplication before the lesson. This information would be extremely helpful because math tends to build off of previous knowledge so it's important to know that the students have this prior knowledge.
